Are You Ready to Become a Certified EQUUS Experience® Facilitator?

The equine-assisted learning world is rapidly growing. What sets an EQUUS Experience facilitator apart from the rest? Unlike most equine-assisted organizations, EQUUS facilitators are highly trained, formally assessed, and experienced practitioners whose mastery spans both the human development and equine behavioral science domains. They are ICF (International Coach Federation) certified coaches, in addition to having decades of experience with horses.

Due to our commitment towards a high level of excellence in facilitation, and our desire to uphold high standards for the industry, our mentorship program is a custom tailored one-on-one apprenticeship program with EQUUS Founder and CEO, author, and developer of the award-winning EQUUS Experience, Kelly Wendorf. Only three apprenticeship spaces are available each year.

This high-touch one-on-one process ensures that EQUUS Experience Facilitators are not only versed in the unique EQUUS Experience pedagogy but become an embodied presence of it.

Once certified, you become a member of our gifted team of EQUUS faculty.

What is the EQUUS Experience?

The EQUUS Experience is the award-winning personal and leadership development process that changes organizations, and transforms individuals, families, leaders, and teams.

Through partnership with horses and masterful facilitation by our staff, The EQUUS Experience® inspires breakthrough learning in a joyful, powerful, and sustainable way.

The process takes place at Thunderbird Ridge, and is a stand alone two-hour and four-hour program and is also embedded inside our retreats, workshops and certification trainings.

It weaves together a confluence of powerful influences:

  • Neuroscience

  • Systems theory

  • Attachment theory

  • Equine behavioral sciences

  • Liberty work

  • Coaching and generative inquiry

  • Earth-based wisdom

  • Our carefully curated cohorts foster camaraderie and shared experiences, igniting connections that last far beyond the program's duration. With the next cohort set to kick off in 2025, seize the opportunity to be part of something truly exceptional. If you value networking, seek shared experiences, and appreciate a clear timeline, our Cohort Model is the perfect fit.
